【睡前故事】The Giant and the Boy 巨人与男孩

 A long time ago, in a faraway town near the jungle, people and animals could talk together and understand each other. One day, a boy was walking in the forest looking for his friend rabbit. Suddenly, he saw his friend rabbit rushing towards him.

“What’s wrong?” he stopped the rabbit and asked. “Run, a giant is behind us,” the rabbit cried.

The boy was shocked because he had never met a giant before. He thought giants only exist in the legendary stories.

“Boom, boom” he heard sound of footsteps getting louder and louder, and the ground started to shake. It was too late to run, so the boy decided to hide behind bushes. He held his breath and peeked through the leaves.

The giant looked down and saw the little boy. He bent down and picked the boy up by two fingers. The giant smiled and said, “Hey, you little boy, you are the first one who doesn’t run away from me.” The giant put the little boy down and shook his hand, and said, “I never want to scare any animals or people away. You are a brave kid. Thanks for not running away from me. Do you want to have a giant friend?”

“Yes, of course,” the boy said excitedly, “and I hope everyone would know giants are not scary.”
